About Us

MARVIN MILLER, FOUNDER
Marvin Miller learned his work ethic at a young age. As a member of the Amish community, he grew up on a dairy farm. He later moved to Logan County, Kentucky and, at the age of 25, made the decision to enter the wood business. Starting with nothing, Marvin began logging, eventually starting his own sawmill business. His goal was to create a family business that could provide work for his eight boys.

After twenty-eight years in the sawmill business, the boys were grown and on their own. In 2018, Marvin and his family moved 200 miles east and bought a farm in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He began deconstructing old barns and reclaiming the lumber, which is prized for its weathered, rustic appearance.

In 2019, Marvin invested in the necessary equipment to begin manufacturing flooring, wallboards and other products from reclaimed barn wood… and Miller’s Millworks was born. The company was a provider of reclaimed barn wood products for a variety of applications for both residential and commercial customers.

Shortly after Miller’s Millworks began, Marvin and his son began receiving requests for portable cabins and decks. Feeling led by God, they began to transition from millwork into manufacturing extremely well built and affordable small portable cabins and portable decks. Their cabins are not the modified portable sheds that seem to be growing in popularity. Miller’s Cabins and Decks are built to last a lifetime. Their cabins are built to the same standards as many homes and RVs including insulation, electrical, appliances as well as heating and air conditioning. From the beginning there goal was and will always be to create high quality products.
